Your Elgin area basement finishing plans can be customized to suit your lifestyle and the size and needs of your family. You don’t have to have a single basement that is converted into a home theater or a home gym. If you can’t decide on what use your new basement will be used for -- your kids might want a home theater or a play room, while you really need a study for privacy -- consider a partitioned basement finishing plan. Your basement finishing plan can include a separate gym, home office for you, a play room for the kids and many other uses you can think of. This kind of basement finishing plan works really well if you have a large basement and a family with kids whose ideas for basement finishing differ from your own!
If you plan to use the basement as a guest room or other room where people will be spending a considerable amount of time, you might want to add a small bathroom to your Elgin area basement finishing plan. This ensures convenience for whoever is using the basement, and turns your basement into a luxurious little self contained haven for all! Make sure there is plenty of natural lighting. If the current windows don’t do a good enough job, consider replacing them as part of your basement finishing plan. If this is not possible, include appropriate artificial lighting that will give the basement a cheerful and bright look without being harsh. Always have a storage area in your basement that you can use for storage purposes. Remember to section the storage area off with a revolving door or a shelf that can also be used for storage, besides concealment.

I am looking for an estimate for a basement remodeling job of approxiamtely 500 sq ft. This is a St. Matthews house that is only 17 years old, but the previous owners did not renovate or finish any part of the basement. I am looking for an entertainment area, a bar area, and possibly the addition of a batthroom. Finances are already available and I am looking to have this done by mid-summer.
